About Me

Kirsty Louise Watkinson

Hi, my name is Kirsty and I am a 21-year-old journalist from the north-west of England. I am currently living in Preston, and have a job as a Community Researcher for the Contour Housing Association, working in conjunction with People’s Voice Media and the University of Central Lancashire to gather information, research, interviews and media related to the local area and the rejuvenation which has taken place in recent years there. I am also taking a shorthand module at the University of Central Lancashire to complete my journalism degree.

In my spare time, I enjoy many hobbies and interests. I am passionate about my stories, and have written fiction novels since the age of 12. I have yet to complete any of these to a high enough standard for publication, but I am enjoying working on them too much to mind this. I have a wide taste in music, love singing and aspire to perform more in front of crowds and on stage. I am also learning the guitar in my spare time, though I don’t often find the time to practice. I also have a keen interest in films, am an avid girl gamer, and can be found most evenings mucking around on my Xbox 360 or my PS2. When I do get out of the house, I love going for walks and practicing with my poi, or finding a quiet place to read or draw. I love foreign animation, particularly oriental (anime), and I often draw characters from my favourite shows.
