Weekly Stumble: Wakka Wakka Wakka

11/06/2010

It’s fun, it’s simple… I loved it:

I’d beware of social media sites if I was a computer game character too… You never know what might be following you!

My only vice is… Red Ghost? Blue Ghost? Surely we all know it’s Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde?!

Hitches and Glitches

09/06/2010

As far as this month’s focus goes, things haven’t been getting very far off the ground. This is mostly because of time management, as I have been relatively busy at work, attending a number of out-of-office trips last week, and spending the rest of my spare time running around like a headless chicken trying to organise everything.

As it is my birthday this month, I have had to locate clothing needed for my costume party, and am taking a trip to the south of the country to visit some friends who can’t make it. The whole month is looking to be more hectic than I anticipated, but at least it won’t be a boring one.

Fingers crossed I can sort out the Ebay stuff by the end of June at least, if not before…

Animation For Beginners

07/06/2010

Last week, we visited the People’s Voice Media centre in Salford, and were introduced to core members of the organisation. The trip included a talk with Chief Executive Gary Copitch, who gave us a clear picture of the vision of PVM and what they aim to do in the future.

In the afternoon, we were divided into two groups, equipped with cameras and unleashed on lumps of unsuspecting salt dough. This is the result – an animated short based on the theme, “How People’s Voice Media Changes The World”:

The other group’s video can be found here:

Monthly Focus: Organisation

01/06/2010

For this month’s focus, I’m looking at a very long-term goal. I’ve been bouncing back and forth between Darwen and Preston for the past four years, but I know that now University’s over and done with, and my job’s only running till August, I have to look ahead and find new worlds to explore.

The next logical step to take, with my media aspirations, would be Manchester, or at least somewhere larger than Preston. But I also know my next step out into the big wide world won’t be one I can step back from – once I leave home again, it’ll probably be for good. A move without an expiration date in the contract. Though, for the time being, I’m settling in with my family fo the next three months.

Which makes this the perfect time to re-stock my possessions, and get rid of some of the clutter in my closet! So, for the next month, I’m going to concentrate on sorting through my things and selling anything I don’t need anymore, ready for the next big move. Kind of like a spring-cleaning, but in summer…

Ebay’s about to get busy!
